Stuart Barry

Chief Ethics & Investments Officer

2016 Finalist Money Management Magazine, Financial Adviser of the Year.

Author; The Rich Greenie, financial strategies for living well while savings the planet.

Co- founder 2008 the Ethical Advisers Coop

Regular finance commentator on ABC Radio Hobart

Masters of Business Administration (Finance), Bachelor Business (Accounting), Certified Financial Planner, Certified Member Responsible Investment Association of Australasia.

Combining his 39 years in the finance industry with a deep passion for helping good people and organizations to drive the urgent environmental and societal changes we need, Stuart is a unique mix of experience, skills and passion often lacking in the finance industry.

Uniquely for a financial adviser, Stuart has actual hands-on experience in the complexities of the global financial markets, having worked for 27 years for organisations such as ING, Westpac and Queensland Treasury Corporation. In his last role, he was based in Seoul as Country Manager for both South Korea and Japan, with responsibility for investment staff and operations in both locations.

Stuart initiated, and funded the key manpower for two years, to establish Australia’s first ethical super fund ratings system for consumers - “Leaf Ratings” with fellow Coop advisers voting on the best and worst funds.

He enjoys using this unparalleled depth of knowledge and experience to enable his clients to profit from his expertise, accessing smart investment choices and knowing they have a pro on their side.

To relax, he enjoys his daily cycle commute, being out in Tassie's natural environment and spending time with his family of four children.

In addition to his busy family life and managing our ethical firms, Stuart contributes his time and expertise back to the community. He is a past President of the Tasmanian Land Conservancy (10 years served), current Treasurer for the South Hobart Sustainable Community (13 years to date), past Board member for disability services provider Tas Tex (9 years) and past Board member for the award winning wukalina Walk. He regularly volunteers for other good organisations.
